Life has a way of changing in an instant. For Michelle Taylor, that moment came the night her mother, founder of BETAH Associates, passed away. Without a roadmap or business training, Michelle suddenly found herself leading her mother’s company. It was a moment she describes as her “suddenly”—one that demanded courage, resilience, and grace.

In Episode 5: “Sisters and Suddenlies,” I speak with Michelle about navigating unexpected change and what it means to lead with authenticity and gratitude. Michelle shares how she leaned on faith, transparency, and a circle of supporters she lovingly calls her “gladiators.” Through their encouragement, she discovered that true strength comes from showing up, even when you’re scared, and allowing others to lift you when you fall.

Michelle’s story takes an even more beautiful turn when her sister, Kyra Taylor, joins the conversation. The two didn’t grow up together, yet when they met later in life, they formed an unshakable bond that feels divinely timed. Kyra, now the Executive Director of Erie’s Black Wall Street, talks about leading from gratitude—valuing every voice, empowering others, and creating opportunities that strengthen her community.

Together, Michelle and Kyra open their hearts about sisterhood, purpose, and the lessons hidden in life’s “suddenlies.” Through laughter and tears, their story reminds us that gratitude doesn’t just heal—it transforms.

If this episode moved you, take a moment to reach out to someone who’s been there for you in your own “suddenly.” Tell them thank you.
